i think open market and broadvision are valuable software concerns that a larger software company could acquire i also think, however, that software may be migrating to "services" with companies providing ecommerce or targeted marketing on a wholesale basis who? eventually perhaps inktomi, which already has a shopping engine or doubleclick, which delivers billions of banner ads, or yahoo, which provides storefronts overall i believe omkt may be in a leadership position and there are millions of businesses that are not yet commerce-enabled with targeted marketing
