We really did get world class thunderstorms in Arlington, and I loved them, too. The air was clean and alive after a big electrical storm. I've only seen one thunderstorm worthy of the name the entire time I've lived out here. We simply don't get them.

We have red breasted thrushes that pass through, look like robins but are pudgier and their coloring isn't nearly as bright. These birds also eat berries and get toasted; do you suppose that's what you have, or do you get real robins?

As for lightning bugs... I think it's our duty to smuggle them into California and make a bigger hash out of the local ecology. What do you suppose they eat?
