Gary, Intel is a low price producer, but they cannot afford low margins with their bloated stock price and executive comp tied to that price. AMD never makes money, so it can still keep playing like an Internet company.

As the corps are saying about PIII, they won't buy a $900 chip when they are used to buying a complete system for $1200. As Intel cuts prices, it may make a corporate sale. Otherwise, its strongest competition is from the PII and Celery.

Intel continues to lose market share. Yes, they outsell everyone else. Just not by as much as they used to.
