Several weeks back I was at the comnet show in DC and saw an incredible demonstration of the asx4000 and the Osicom gigamux equipment. From what I remember NRL (Naval Research Labs) Had an asx 4000 and the osicom gigamux gear at their location. They also had a HDTV camera on their roof pointing at Reagan Airport. NRL sent the signal to fore's booth at the DC convention center to another asx4000 and osicom box, at the convention center they changed the wavelength and sent it back to NRL. NRL sent it back again on yet another wavelength. The the hdtv feed was displayed in real time. The best part of this was, 6+ GIGabits per second was the speed of the data transmitted over a single fiber times three. Simply amazing!
