to the smaller line widths
He did not tell you that every one is going into .18um or .25um, although it is clever way of insinuating that. There is plenty of companies with geometris well above .5um and the key is they make money. Few that come to mind are LLTC, MXIM, IRC and they don't even have 8inch fabs and are profitable.

I thought this was Morgan's most powerful statement for AMAT.<<<

That's certainly important but kind of expected to me in the fast moving semiconductor industry. To me, most powerful was his mentioning , twice, that AMAT is gaining market share.
