freeus, your mature, analytical approach is a beacon to safe harbor in this storm of emotion. You must be very old and wise <g>. Is the Friday event (this week?) still a go? Hopefully it will come off better than my lame attempt did yesterday. I'm sure Dalin will prove a better event planner than I, but having a yacht is a big advantage. Wonder if it's named AEOB?

Frank

re:"...posts on dell thread yesterday"

here, here, great post....from a voice of reason and calmness...attributes necessary for successful long term investing....

even at this "unacceptable" growth rate dell will remain a major holding in most growth funds, and let's not forget cash inflow from index funds...

Thanks Freeus, I've been and will remain long. Shaking the tree won't work. They'll have to shoot me out of it.

To freeus and all: As a relatively new Dellhead, I have been
"lurking " here since late last summer. I took the plunge into Dell as a day trading vehicle and it quickly became apparent that more money is to be made here buy buying and holding and perhaps selling off shares following splits, and so established dell as one of my core holdings. Though I have been investing for some years, my research, a good deal of which I was directed to by the the many fine posters to this board, has never turned up a company with Dell's combination of a revolutionary business model AND near flawless execution. The more I learn the more I learn and this has never been truer with Dell.

While I have finally pried the $ out of my tight fist to join SI, I must say it has been a unique and interesting experience to read your posts with that certain degree of detatchement born of my inability to jump in and respond myself. I have tremendous admiration for and owe a debt of gratitude to all of you who have done your research, shared your ideas, experiences, thoughts and intuitions with each other (and with all us "lurkers"). I look forward to joining you as time permits and events unfold.

I trust that in a few weeks all the "gloaters" will be gone, either because they're tired of gloating or they won't have anything to gloat about anymore. Got to go now. Go Dell!!

Lynn:
Very good post. There seldom opportunities to add more Dell at bargain prices. The past two days we have been given that window, it depends on us if we take advantage of that. Wait a few weeks, and looking back, what a bargain we get. So, instead of getting mad at Niles and Kumar (because they are right), profit by it.
