the only specific price forecast i made was that amat would drop below $25. it did. other than that, i gave my opinion that amat was over valued based on fundamentals.

fundamentals are crappy. is $65+ worth 11 cents a q? not to me given that the pc market is posting negative revenue growth. orders? they look good now - actually, only relatively good to crap qs - but they get cancelled when the stinky stuff hits the fan.

if somebody bases investments on my opinion of valuation (i didn't then and said i wasn't buying puts on amat - though i am eyeing them now...) then they aren't, shall we say, in the right state of mind to play this game.

it is your money and you are responsible for it.

also, anybody with a monolithic view of investing is also not suited for this game. my cdwc (another nice day, thank you very much - but it isn't locked in until i sell...) and cmb puts were well documented.

diversification is necessary to reduce risk.

of course, all my positions haven't done that well. most not even close. however, some folks would mislead others into believing my record is all crap - and it isn't.

however, i do understand the emotional need some have and the monolithic approach it engenders.

the fundamentals stink. ya'll just are betting that they improve quickly. kinda like the guy who bets 14 in roulette.
