Standard & Poor's maintains its 5 STARS (buy) recommendation on shares of Dell Computer (Nasdaq: DELL - news) after the company reported fourth quarter earnings per share of $0.31 versus $0.20, meeting Wall Street's mean estimate. However, analyst Megan Graham-Hackett notes that DELL's revenue, up 38% to $5.2 billion, was $200 million below her estimate, and she trimmed her fiscal 2000 (Jan.) earnings per share estimate by $0.02 to $1.53. I dont think so. Even Ashok Kumar is saying that DELL is a leader in e-commerce and they have the best balance sheet in the industry. He was saying that compaq, hwp have 3/4 weeks of inventory and DELL has only 6 days. The price you are talking will see after the split and not before.

I think most of us agree that $50.00 is a good buy price for Dell.

They analyzed the last 5-yrs typical hi-lo P/E range, etc, relative
to the P/E's of the broader market at the time - ie, how much
premium over the market have each of these companies typically
sold at. Taking the average of that premium gives a good buy
price (to them). Ie, they tried to keep it to a fairly
objective process based on past stock valuations vs.
market valuations.
