Company Press Release

Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. Subsidiary, Rockstar Games, and Delphine Software to Feature Intel's Pentium III Processor

Ground-Breaking 3D Action Role Playing Game, Darkstone, to Showcase Optimization for the New Intel(R) Pentium(R) III Processor

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 17, 1999-- Gathering of Developers, the developer-driven computer and video game publisher, Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc (NASDAQ:TTWO - news), and computer game developer, Delphine Software International, today announced their full support of the Intel Corporation's (NASDAQ:INTC - news) Pentium® III processor. The technology will be optimized in Darkstone, the upcoming 3D medieval, action role-playing game (RPG) that will be published by The Gathering and distributed by Jack of All Games, a subsidiary of Take-Two, in the spring for Windows 95/98 compliant personal computers. A Sony PlayStation version of the game is expected to be published by Rockstar Games in the Fall.

Created by acclaimed software developer Delphine Software, Darkstone immerses gamers into a fantastic, medieval world where they must battle the evil minions of a horrific dragon named Draak. Set in a completely 3D world, Darkstone allows players to simultaneously control two heroes in their quest, or team with up to eight players to duel over the Internet or a LAN. As a result of the advantages offered by the Pentium III processor, Darkstone features seamless full 3D environments, real-time lighting and amazing particle effects.

Betrand Gibert, Delphine's development manager, stated, ''The Intel Pentium III processor helps enable Darkstone to deliver new levels of PC gaming performance. We are very excited to be a part of the wave of Pentium III processor software development.''

''By optimizing Darkstone for the Intel Pentium III processor, Gathering of Developers and Delphine Software are delivering tremendous new performance to role-playing gamers. Intel is excited that the Pentium III platform has enabled the next level of immersive 3D gaming,'' said Tom Galvin, director, Intel Entertainment and Education Market Development.

''We are very excited to be working with Intel and having one of our very own games showcased,'' said Sam Houser, President of Rockstar Games. ''Darkstone is a prime choice to have at the show and will not only utilize the power of the Pentium III, but prove that the video game business can respond rapidly to technological advance.''

Kash - Re: " If you went, what sort of improvements were folks talking about for KNI over 3dNow. "

This will be tough - I doubt if many applications will support BOTH of these explicitly.

The only reasonable expectation is to test applications that rely on DirectX for their video optimizations.

These can then be "benchmarked" using the 3DNOW/K6-2 or KNI/Pentium III versions of the DirectX libraries.

Such comparisons may be appearing in a few weeks - but remember - SERIOUS 3D graphics programs generally don't rely on DirectX for help in the 3D arena.

<Did you go to the PIII extravaganza in SJ today.>

I got to see it as it was broadcast to one of our auditoriums here in Oregon. The big focus, of course, was the Internet. Pretty interesting marketing tactic. There was quite an emphasis on 3D web browsing, like a 3D version of the Excite search engine.

If I have time, I'll give a few more details over in the INTC thread.
