re:....."kiss the entire tech sector goodbye"

this too , will pass...consider the end of the world on 10/28/97,and 10/8/98....ended up as buying opportunity for the long term investor...quality will come back first and with much strength, when the selling climax ends...history repeats....not to worry , for when cooler heads preside, they will see that there is nary a thing wrong with dell, or intc, or msft....and yes even cpq will survive and set new highs....nature of the beast...elevator goes up, goes down, just never get off at a lower floor....

Good afternoon, Frank. I agree with your comments about csco, particularly since they haven't even announced their inevitable split yet. I added to my position this pm at 95 1/2, and consider it a steal.

I haven't touched my dell holdings yet, and think my fear/greed ratio is at equilibrium at 80. I am considering selling dell covered calls to help tide me over through this mess. What do you think?

Frank

At this time all the analysts , chart makers, prophets, etc are reviewing Dell by there customary means and comparing it to other investments.
When they are finished the price they will pay for Dell will be, as it has been in the past, a figure that is about 1/4 of the price Dell will be at one year hence.
Until the analysts come up with better methods, such as giving greater weight to management capabilities or something else, I don't expect them to do much better than in the past 5 years. From the bearish comments posted here recently, it appears people do not change
rapidly.
Dell= 4x80=$320sh in Feb 2000. Or if you believe the analysts
have improved by 50% in the last year, 2x80= $160sh
To avoid scaring the bears, thats only 80 after march split
