I don't think Cisco will announce a split until July (FYE). To announce one now would be to try to artificially inflate the share price. As I have said many times before, Chambers said himself that he likes a steadily performing stock price that is fairly valued vs one that is highly volatile. We are just now getting back to fair (more rational wrt est. future growth rate) values. I will be a large buyer if we ever see $80 again. Don't expect to, tho.

If you will do a little homework, you will easily see that JC doesn't use stock splits to support a price. Just the opposite, he will split when the price is steady and reasonable.

MMV,
Hmmm, I'm in the camp of "I don't think you will see a CSCO split for a couple of months". It would seem to be a bad idea to split a stock in a weak market as it would just be a bandaid on the stock price and would just be absorbed after a couple of days. This assumes that CSCO recognizes that we are in a weak market (is that an understatement?) and that CSCO likes the stock to be above a certain level.

I would also look at the time interval of past splits as a guide to how soon the next split might happen.

But then again, I could be wrong. It could split tomorrow, but I think any reaction would be absorbed by the overall market direction anyway (pro or con).
