Frank, sorry it took me a week to see this post from you. To respond to this question from you:
<<Your last post stated you are:

diagnosed with severe bipolar disorder--bipolar 1, or severe manic depression. This illness has the highest suicide "success" rate of all, much higher than for depression alone. Without medication, 25% of manic depressives commit suicide, successfully.

How were you diagnosed.... meaning what were the symptoms? Anyway I hope you are at ease with yourself and I hope you are on course with your regime and medication. >>

Well, I was diagnosed bipolar during my 2nd psychotic episode. My particular case is so severe, there has never been any doubt as to the accuracy of the diagnosis. I have had 5 psychotic episodes, each one complete with delusions, flights of ideas, rapid speech, terror, grandiosity, bizarre behavior. The medications work pretty well, but I, like many bipolars, go through phases where I "forget" to take meds... So, the illness can progress and get worse in those times.
Anyway, I am completely against physician assisted suicide. I think it may undermine the treatment options for people with depression, and secondary depression due to painful illness. Physical pain is awful, yes, but many people believe severe depression is as bad as a severely physically painful condition.

Frank, I finally went back to two posts ago to check out the thread you invited me to. Unfortunately I cannot post there without an account and password, which may not be hard to get, but I didn't bother. After reading a few posts there, I stumbled on your link to Narcanon... I went there because "www.scientology.org" threw up some huge red flags. You say, <<I hope you are on course with your regime and medication.
I would like to extend an invitation to you to visit a new thread started by an individual who also is knowledgeable in Latin and the medical world>>
Um... Are you a scientologist? As it says on the very page you linked to, L Ron Hubbard started this company, basically , and he was also opposed to psychiatric medication treatments, not just "drug addictions".. So, many scientologists mistakenly believe that all people treated for mental illness are drug addicts because they take psychiatric medications. While it is true many bipolars do have drug addictions, due to their constant seeking of mood stabilization even well before they are diagnosed, psychiatric medications are necessary. I do not like Scientology in the least, it is most destructive to the mentally ill. And yes, my "Latin quote" that you referred to ALSO indicates my Roman Catholic beliefs.
Again, I am sorry about your father, and your cousin, but what I just read about the company you invested in leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Forgive me for having to say so.
