So Schwab actually improved your execution over the limit. Surprising, does Schwab have their own MMs on the floor?

None of the firms I use allow Web-based spread entries; however, I hear that Dreyfus does.

Ameritrade does not allow Web Spread orders...you have to do it manually

<Put spread on Dell March 85-90 calls today for 1 7/8 credit. Will leg out if Dell
breaks 85 in next couple of days. >

Ken....I'm trying to be sure I have the jargon straight....you mean if Dell breaks 85....you'll sell the March 90's....and buy 95's or 100's??

KFE,

I also have to phone in my spread orders to open for a predetermined amount, I use Brown&Co. Can initiate via the web only by legging in. Its nice to take a piece of the inside spread once in a while. One thing that I have found on liquid options like DELL or IBM etc., is that a lot of times you can get an improvement over the inside spread due to the volume of contracts trading. Someone in the crowd will look to fade you for the volatility or maybe a large order comes in and takes out all of one side for a momentary uptick or downtick of either option quote. Good Luck with your position, even Mikey D's appearence on CNBC today didn't help too much. Declaration of split though may be bullish, but how do you value 2.5 billion shares? Great company though, just bot a new box from them a couple of months ago and am real happy. One of my fondest wishes was trying to call the top of the Dell monsters latest rise and I guess I did when I covered a short position @ 109 3/8 a while back. Just goes to show you, timing is everything.

Good Trading

Dave
