(NYSE:IBM - news) is integrating the Emulex PCI fibre channel host adapter into the IBM® RS/6000 S70 and S70Advanced enterprise servers. IBM plans to begin shipping servers with the Emulex adapter card to customers on March 26 of this year. IBM has announced plans to provide its customers with the benefits of balanced system design through advances in network bandwidth, clustering technologies and new application support. The LP7000E utilizes Emulex's fibre channel-optimized ASIC architecture, ''Superfly,'' to achieve significant increases in performance over earlier generation products.
