Well I'm doing good and bad. Had some scary moments in November and sold Leaps I had which was totally ridiculous, as well as selling the calls I had. I got a 9% return which could have been at least triple that had I not been scared out of it by myself!
That was all DELL.
I had a couple of great wins on a yahoo call (April 200 pre split) and amzn and some AOL calls.
And the Dell 100s for Feb gave me an 8 bagger!!!!But I'm losing some of that profit in the 120s for Feb which will expire worthless tomorrow.
So there's been winners and losers.
For me the lessons have been: hold leaps.
Buy in the money or only slightly out of the money short term calls.
But most of all TAKE PROFITS: on options especially because they are time sensitive when I have 50% or 100% profit from now on I will take it because it is humiliating to see a hefty profit turn into a loss. On a stock (if its a good one) you may recover. On an option you wont.
I'm still looking at EMC I want it around 96 or 97: it got there this morning but I was working and couldnt check. Maybe near the close it will return to that level: the reason I want that price is because I'm buying it on margin and I think the market is very weak and I dont want to get anything that goes down even just short term. (EMC would be a long hold though).
