For value investors this sector appears to be one of the most out-of-favor, and if any recovery is in the cards over the next few years investors could do well. Merrill has a buy on a number of companies here - in fact on 16 of the domestic service companies. One industry insider- Mike Simmons, President of Loosbrook Offshore, talks about sector FWIW, interviewed by Doug Fant of this thread. Also, Mr. Simmons answered the questioned posed by other SI thread members here with regard to cancellations, etc. Good job Doug, interesting stuff.
