That's true, perhaps it's not that much money to pay.

It's true that GeoWorks is developing for wireless apps, but from what I understand, they're using web related tech. Here's a quote from a GWRX press release from last december:

"Premion Server+ is a local content server that features flexible architecture and easy integration with existing systems. Geoworks' network server technology supports multiple languages, including HTML, WML, XML, HDML, Compact HTML, Simple text, TTML and flexible delivery protocol support (HTTP, HDTP, WTP, SMTP, SMS). This gives Toshiba the ability to transmit content, value-added services or promotions to a wide range of wireless devices, including messaging
phones such as the Genio and Dialo."

So it's not necessarily just wireless apps they're developing.. didn't this company start out with an OS that was supposed to rival Windows awhile ago?

James.

Thats only $250K per person. Your average ERP consultant rates (for one year). Staff
development salaries are routinely $125K.... so in my opinion, no big deal. My real
question is why these employees? Wireless technology seems like an unusual fit for
Amzn.

Let's not foregt the assumption of the Lease of the facility in Seattle. That was passed over as though not an issue. How much is the Lease? I bet no one here knows.
