Re: FreePCs

Tim,

Why couldn't the same concept be used with netbox technology??

Think of it... free netbox with easy to use interface (not Windoze98), used while in the comfort of your own living room on your TV set.

Wonder if anybody out there is thinking about this??

FreePCs are basically leased PC, leased from a leasing company, handed out to the customer, and the PC is basically paid for by the monthly subscription fee.

The PC they are describing retails for less than $900 per unit (according to prices I've seen here.), and the additional revenue they obtain will come from advertising fees to their captive audience of subscribers.

I see no reason the concept can't be transitioned to netboxes for a greatly lower cost.

Regards,

Ron
