Allen, The bottom line is that OEM Zip inclusion rates have increased because boxmakers will provide whatever the customer wants. Customers want Zip drives. Period. Beyond that, things could get crazy when the incremental cost for providing a Zip in place of a floppy prompts suppliers to begin promoting the drive by making it the standard and offering the old-style floppy as an option.

As far as the LS-120 goes, I think it's clear they've missed the boat as a serious threat to Zip. Going forward, I expect their sales will likely increase for awhile, but as the floppy continues to fade as an essential component, so will Imation's growth. Sony simply blew it. They seriously delayed an already late start with a defective product. Zip is in the driver's seat as result. When Sony finally gets the HiFD shipping, I'd bet they'll be battling Imation for a share of the market while it will become even more evident to customers why Zip is the standard.
