"Used," eh? Hmmmmm. ggg. I wondered about that site. The articles would go on and on, baiting you, and then at the end, say something like, "Well, that's what we think. Add your two cents blah blah blah." Did seem rather peculiar, and Cowles' (?) take makes sense. Damn, I feel used too! But more amused than anything else.

ZDNET is 100% internet. Y2K is a short term 100% threat to internet.
Logic would dictate that any entity would down play any threat to it's
investment public, in it's own best interests. I would treat all information produced by such an entity as somewhat tailored in their own self interest. The markets will act accordingly.

Here's that same story, but with the readers' responses at the bottom of the page (filtered by "editorial review"). Most who responded didn't think much of that piece at all.
