"What do you think of this system? ....trade WCOM."

What I'd love to know is, how would one have arrived at buying WCOM.

Could you, or anyone, actually explain the system that would have selected WCOM out of the thousands of stocks out there. What indicators were used that pointed directly at WCOM?

Thanks,
Nicholas

Richard...I spent some time looking over your system result and have a few questions and comments.

It produced alot of money but I'm looking at the avg win/avg loss ratio of 1.47. I look at this number as the risk/reward that I'd be taking. It seems like you'd want a number that's over 2, wouldn't you? I think this is an OB/OS or range breakout system, is it? It produces 54% winners and it looks like you exit on the 11th day if the sell signal isn't tripped.

One of my big hangups is always with the drawdown. This system seems huge at 460% of the avg win and ~1500% higher than the avg trade. Is this a large number for this type of system? I know I doubt if I could sit through that. Is there a 10% stop in the system? But then it could've come from one trade with a big gap down or something.

The indexes at the bottom I don't know what they're telling you. Do you use that information? I use supercharts and the system result screen is greatly different.

Is this a system you use today?

Thanks
Mike

Richard,

I can't figure out how buy-n-hold could've made those numbers on WCOM.

Buy/Hold profit 34057756.00 Days in test 2604
Buy/Hold pct gain/loss 340577.56 Annual B/H pct gain/loss 47738.41

WCOM was about $5 in 1/92, around $80 now, unless I have bad data.
What am I missing?
