Order Your Orb Drive Here!:

$199
wintecdirect.com
Wintec has $199 Internal EIDE PC Castlewood Orb Drives IN STOCK. Ships with one Orb disk. Additional disks are due in just a few weeks.

Reports are popping up on Usenet that Orb drives are indeed being delivered to end users as we speak.

Looks like the disk drive sector has a new competitor. The $199 2.2 Gig Orb drive competes not only directly with Iomega, but also is competitive $/MB with fixed hard drives as well!

>>You know full well the cause was a stubborn and futile defense of an untenable currency peg.<<

Lawrence you know full well you are right, and saw through my love of what seemed like a good line at the time(le vin aidant). But the origin of the problem was also an uncontrolled international capital market which encouraged local banks to borrow without limit as long as international bankers were willing to keep the credit spiggots open. Once rationality (in the form of panic - how on earth did we let our exposure to Bangkok Bank get that high???) set in, the result was indeed a balance of payments problem.
