Why are you obsessed with SATH? In case you haven't noticed there are thousands of other stocks...

The shorts on this thread are position traders. Your simplistic rules of shorting are somewhat applicable for daytraders who have attention spans of few minutes.

Most people do not use a "fixed" stop. It always depends on the stock and overall market conditions.

I shorted SATH at 23.375, 23.6875, 25, 27,27, 27.875, 28 and 24.5 (average - around 25.75) and covered at an average of 13.75 . I am sure my trades are typical of the shorts you have come across on this thread - It is obvious to everyone (except you) that shorts like me have made lot of $$ on SATH for just 2 days work.

In case you did not notice we are in a bull market. Most shorts on SI are position traders and allocate only a minor % of their portfolio on one stock - if they would have done otherwise, they would have filed for bankruptcy long back. I am confident that most SI shorts also have long positions - they will not be forced out by a temporary paper loss of $6/share (if they are confident of the final outcome). In this case, the shorts were very confident of the final outcome - a sharp drop.

Regards.
