I calculate that if Barrick would make a comparable offer to ARP shareholders... it would be near $7 for each ARP shares.

Syncrude, Had they offered an 89% premium for ARP they may have won that war too, making it paper saves cash and taxes. Perhaps that is why the CEP flew out the door at ABX. He could have spent some paper and done it.
