Anybody know why BHI seems to be outperforming the group today?

Mike - I appreciate your input to this thread. It seems to me that a lower dollar would help this sector. Rubin has talked about a $300 billion trade deficit for this year.

With many of the smaller E & P companies unable or barely able to service their debt, it looks like domestic production has to decline even more this year. Import #'s for crude should jump again, BWDIK.

Regards, WJH

In Steel Sector, the situation is actually similar to ours, but there the government stepped in to rescue the US steel industry. You may go to quote.yahoo.com and read all the stories you want about that.

Advice for new investors in oil

1. Keep a good supply of alcohol. It will help ease the pain on the way down. You can celebrate on the way back up.

2. Never eat before checking quotes. You might throw up.

3. Buy lots of Pepto-Bismol. You're going to have a lot of upset stomachs.

4. Don't tell wife you bought oil stock.
