The PIII ID system is rubbish and not very secure.

A much better way is to use RF ID tags.

One can implant one in every PC purchaser and the PC can read the ID and transmit that data to the appropriate web-site for verification.

This way your ID would travel with you, could not be easily stolen, and would also be extremely usefull in other security areas.

Such as opening car doors, home, office doors etc all without having to carry physical keys. It would provide excellent user experience of the world around us without cluttering our lives looking for and worrying about regular keys.

Perhaps we can get Paul to suggest this approach to his Intel friends for the Pentium IV.
