Maybe I'm a natural skeptic, but doesn't it seem to be a timing coincidence, that benefits MS in the trial, that another OS is being promoted? Seems it would take some heat off MS.....BWTHDIK

Forget LINUX -- Gates has more immediate distractions. WSJ story:

interactive.wsj.com

"Microsoft's Lawyers Struggle
With Serious Tactical Errors"

Basically WSJ says MSFT is fouling up big-time up by playing hardball, trying to deny the obvious (that they are a monopoly and try to screw other companies every chance they get) rather than arguing that the consumer isn't harmed and other companies do the same thing.

Story also says that besides the potential legal damage, the antitrust case is becoming a public-releations disaster.

Which of course is all good for CKFR. The worse things go for Gates in the courtroom the less likely he'll be to try that sort of stuff in the banking arena. And the worse it goes for him in the public eye, the less likely any banker will be to trust him.

All IMHO, of course.
