Hi, John,

I basically agree with everything you've noted, but I have a couple of thoughts along these lines too.

First, I suspect that many have not noticed the li-poly/liquid li-ion distinction. The press release doesn't just say it has a better way of making its own product, or even li-poly products. It says it has a better way of making existing liquid lithium-based rechargeable products. The liquid lithium market is today's gigantic market, with several billion of revenue, if not a lot of profit. Getting a nice little tap into this revenue stream could mean a lot when there are only about 27 million shares outstanding.

Second, I am sure you are right about investors focusing on the announcement of the elusive "P.O.," for the material significance of the first sales is crucial. But everyone ought to be alert to other announcements too. Valence doesn't do announcements unless they are material, and I think they think today's announcement is material. It sure seems material to me; if fact, it might be the most material piece of news they've released in years. Investors on the street would be much too quick in just blowing it off as another patent announcement.

Regards, lws
