Fred - I think that the MM is a bit nervous. I have been buying more at 8 3/8 and am being filled in dribs and dabs without the usual MM games on this stock. My take is that the MM is not sure which way to bet so he is just passing through all orders as they come and keeping the spread as tight as he can. Certainly there are no big movers in the market yet, just us small guys buying and hanging on to our shares plus a few small day traders trying to skim off 1/16 or so on the moves. There don't seem to be any shorters prepared to risk their necks at the moment though. They are having a lean time of it IMHO.

Hi Fred-

Tight spreads usually means shares are being watched very closely...the MM's do not want to be overwhelmed so they are staying "on top" of the situation. Larger spreads indicate lower interest form traders. Tight spreads alos allow for MM's to exchange shares without much cost. Clearly, we are being looked at more closely. The news this AM has peaked just a few more ears.

Go back a few days to my earlier posts...with the key statement that we need volume to increase with price. We've seen this for 3 days now and it appears to me...IMHO...that a larger break out to the upside may be imminent.

I have no problem re-testing 11...do you?

HC

Fred: Two things come immediately to mind. First, the MM's are keeping a strangle-hold grip on this situation, plus narrowing the spread acts as an enticement to buyers since their "costs" are positively impacted in a corresponding manner. Secondly, folks that are interested in VLNC ain't placing any market type orders. This indicates the knowledge level of those interested in VLNC is high, not only from a VLNC buyers point of view, but also as it relates to general market strategies and tactics(ie. I seldom place an at market type of order). Clearly nobody's about to be suckered by the controlling organizations into a "bull trap," eh? This is good, imho. As HC has said....Give me slow and steady, as long as it's in the appropriate direction. Heh!

Just random thoughts here at the lunchtime hour..

John~

Fred - Re.: "...Can anything be deduced from the current 1/32 spread..."

(1) demand-supply is getting tight. (Actually MM's are having problems finding shares, may need to raise their price quickly.)
(2) volume is starting to explode and price explosion will follow.

The chart already gave us signals that this would happen, even before the news was released. Right, HC? "gradual accumulators" did not believe it. "News and analysis" are after the fact. Today's news is just an "excuse" for the bulls to push the price up and bears to stay low for awhile. Enjoy the ride! Ram
