Pending more information, here's my interpretation: South Africa is not looking for a tenprinter solution, i.e., live scan. Consequently, the NEC/IDX alliance isn't in effect. Anything that Polaroid did on bidding on this contract wouldn't have included today's product announcement. So the Polaroid IDT competitor is out. That leaves either the NEC single-finger technology or the IDT single-finger technology. My guess is, it is IDT. I don't think these deals have much money in them for IDT, though, since IDT revenues have been modest despite other Unisys/IDT wins for national systems.
