re: dell/cpq inventory...

without putting into esoteric math terms, which i'm not capable of...just using common sense business terms....no inventory, and the ability to ship a build to order item in a short time...is better than inventory, which may grow stale, and whose value in a current market diminishes... no inventory=no cost, inventory=cost...... japanese learned this a long time ago with j-i-t manufacturing methods, a skill that msd adopted and improved on...it works perfectly with a product that becomes obsolete as moore's law has dictated...got a great price on some 486 dx2 boxes...or even as absurd on some 100mhz pentiums...real world demonstration of why msd model is being copied...
