All the fuss over Anvil is very illuminating. There seems to be two seperate problems to discuss.
First, the well itself. While the water is a problem as Perkins has stated it shouldn't be too great a problem to get around the third zone and access the 2.5mmcft in zone 1 and whatever they can salvage from 2nd and 3rd zones. All the costs will be recovered by Anvil at 125% as per their agreements,The disturbing thing is , of course, thatT.West and Whalen have not been able to solve the problem in zone 3 and took so long to recognize the problem.
Our source say that Anvil is trying to obtain the services of a very knowledgable expert to help run the operation. He not only owns a large number of Anvil shares but was the person who recommended the play to Anvil in the first place. He is currently very involved with a large company in the oil business and his advice would be very valuable to Anvil.Plus his prestige and reputation in the oil business would add much needed credability to Anvil.
We have stated for a long time that Anvil needed serious help in both the expertize in developing the oil and gas field and most importantly in their PR.They seemed to feel their Dec.NR was enough to keep shareholders happy. No news is always interpreted negatively as shown in the stock action of Anvil. Even setbacks, as they have experienced, would have been received with less negativety than no news.
We worry when we call Anvil and have Alex promoting the Voisey play in order to deflect attention from their problem in Texas. The Texas problem, we believe is not that serious to effect our position that Anvil is a grossly undervalued stock at these prices. The gas play will be developed. If Voisey adds to the value so be it.All the better. But we would hate to see Anvil become diverted from the Texas sure thing to the Voisey needle in a hay stack.
Everyone calm down.Lets give Anvil management time to work out their problems. But keep their feet to the fire.If they need outside help than they should getit. We know their San Diego investors are anxious to see this play succeed .There are plenty of resources avilable .Lets hope Anvil will recognize their shortcomings and strengthen their management. In the meantime griping without concrete suggestions is counter productive.
Isn't life in the oil and gas patch fun?
