DMG - One of the things I can't get my arms around is how operators would be able to differentiate themselves in a harmonized, single standard environment, and this is an idea that ERICY is obviously using to their advantage.

On what do you base your assertion that Ericsson is claiming that this form of differentiation is a plus? All I have seen is Ericsson claiming that some aspects of their system are technically better - i.e. it isn't differentiation per se that Ericsson is selling, but that their system is better.(?)

In any case I would argue that customers do not care about the technology behind a cell system. All they care about are things like reliability, connect rate, coverage, cost, ... and many of these things will remain service differentiators even if everyone is using the same technology. All JMO.

PS It would be interesting to know how the various service providers in Europe differentiate themselves since they are all using the same technology. Anyone know what the marketing campaigns look like?
