W - I still lurk here even though I sold remaining my remaining stock on Blue Monday. In general, you're right about buying when blood is in the street. But the comparison to Chase Manhattan is overly simplistic. Of course, like the banks in the early 1990s, the whole seed industry is going through tough times. If so, and if the entire seed industry stands to benefit over the long term from "biotech" developments, then why not buy PHB, NVTSY, or MTC for the long term. Why toss money at ABTX, when it faces so many structural and financial difficulties that the others don't face (MTC also faces some of the same difficulties that ABTX faces in integrating acquisitions, but at least MTC's seed side already has some relatively high-margin products). To compare to the networking business, it seems that the CSCO and COMS are always better long term investments that the FORE, SHVA, and MADGF of the world.

Good luck with your investment.
