My writing partner and I typically compose on synthesizers which are computer/MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) controlled. . Occasionally we need to "quantize" certain musical elements in order correct rhythmic imperfections in performances.

Sometimes in the process of this correction process, very cool and unexpected rhythms emerge, and occasionally "make" a composition with their unexpected brilliance.

In the effort to create uniformity, the odd becomes beautiful.

I love the odd and unexpected, but music and I can't survive on
"accidents"-- inspite of their necessity.

(Hopefully this clears up any misperceptions)
