Lynn: Re; the new COMPAQ thread - I wish the spin-off well. I wonder if long-suffering shareholders will be granted free shares. One of the posters on the new thread is grateful for it because there is too much OT discussions and outside posters on this thread.

There is only so much you can know and say about CPQ and the market. There are lots of books, research papers and other sources of information on the subject if you need to study it more deeply. The thread is a sui generis happening and will never be a study group or a disciplined research bureau. I notice that with less than six posting on the new thread, one poster is already criticising another for the quality of his posting and another has started jajajajajing (metaphorically speaking) about the ambiguity in the title about where COMPAQ's "future lies".
