Sarmad--the bank lending is my main target, but forward producer sales can be repurchased by the producers if they see an upturn in the metal. Gold is used as a cheap source of gambling stakes by the hedge funds. Their bankers, not the ones who lend them gold, but their regular bankers, they panic when they see a move up in gold cause it would create a bad debt scenario for their 'best' customers. So they play ball and have helped smack it back down -- happened this week with Asia shut down for Chinese New Year. But in this tug of war there will be a turning point and I am saying it is now -- right now -- so we shall see. My play is calls on NEM and NEM alone. Not too expensive if you want calls, but the stock is a more sensible way to play this game -- if you were short AMZN you would probably prefer stock over options. Best of luck -- must fly. P.S. -- Look at sales of options on NEM today with a Feb. expiration -- somebody must think gold is in play. <G>
