You're kidding yourself. Two cents. Down 33% from previous Q?

The MMs don't decide what a stock's worth. You, me, John, and mostly the large investors with real skin in the game make the market. The MM's are a temporary blip on the chart.

This Q was nothing to write home about. With dramatically reduced expectations and a company that fell from 90 you may see some bounce, but not much. In reality this is a stock in disarray which has already gained back some of its losses, leaving its price a bit ahead of its earnings.

I would pick some up in the high teens, which we will probably see in 3-4 weeks, but not in the low 20s. I still like CIEN, and it may still find its legs, but it sure hasn't yet.

You do have a point about MM's having some influence on nasdaq stock prices. However, this is way overblown. MM's maintain an inventory of stock, and simply buy and sell. Sure they can play out themes, whether they be positive or negative. But you are indeed fooling yourself if you think the MM's alone can make this thing go up (or down) for very long.

Also, when's the last time you heard a MM comment on a stock such as Ciena?
