vlad,

I come before you and ask forgiveness because during the summer you cautioned about taking T slightly. I was wrong and you are right.

Watch for the following events

1) T to cut a Time Warner like deal with Comcast for local access. By the way if that deal goes down, T will have access to 60% of the population to sell local phone service.

2) Time Warners' Roadrunner and @home to merger

3)The FCC is going to give T room and time to close thier network

4) The next set top box for cable will have RF capabilities to home network. @home promising to have 4th qrt

5)By summer look for cable modems to be sold in retail location. CompUSA, Best Buys so on and so forth.

6) Think of the freaking content these companies have.

Inside story>>

A locate phone I know is rolling out fiber to the curb to 1,500 homes where I live. They are planning on charging $300 a month and expected a 5% TAKE RATE. Why are they doing this? Because they see the future as a provider of the pipe. What I think they are missing is WHO GIVES A RAT ICCCEEEESSS about the pipe if it doesn't have content.

Interesting Reading

The transformation of T. I am telling you now the RBOCs do not know how to compete. They have always just been a cost plus provider of voice to the PSC. They have no clue. My recommendation is for these guy go the heck out of the industry and find someone how knows how to compete. Like T

dailynews.yahoo.com

Of all the garbage RBOCs I must say US west is somewhat a gleam of light..

zdnet.com

When in the hades would you have ever expected T to be on any ones top ten list??????

Please read the whole article. AOL is on the list along with TWX

redherring.com

I said it once and I will say it again acquiring AOL is a must...

redherring.com

More content for the bad guys

zdnet.com

And finally something that the home team would like to read about

zdnet.com

In closing>>>>>

Westell problems are not Westell's. The problem with Westell is the RBOCs are scaried to death to cannibalize thier 15 billa year cash cow. When and if they wake up, Westell will do just fine.

vladimir--

good point, but you will have to admit that ATHM was as much a product of success as of hype.

as for the lifespan of any of these products...i can make you a fairly good promise...in ten years ADSL AND cablemodems will be history.

good luck to all,
trey
