"Morgan Hill, Gilroy, Hollister will one day become connected suburbia, sad to say, just as happened North of the hour glass."

I agree for the most part. I'm surprised Morgan Hill and Gilroy aren't more developed than they are considering the number of folks who drive twice as long to get to Stockton, etc. It's like that direction was overlooked the last 15 years. A little pricier too, I suppose. M.H. is still quite rural. Hollister has that last 12 miles from Gilroy down 25 that makes or breaks the committed refugee. It's still only an hour from Sunnyvale though and has much better weather than Gilroy. I fought that mental battle myself for a while, but now I actually enjoy the drive. Once I get down past Bernal or so and leave S.J. behind. I lived in the South Bay for 20 years and never thought of it as ugly until I started driving into it from Morgan Hill. Working in Sunnyvale is sort of the "wrong" side of the South Bay for me but what the heck. That may well change some day. As for the inevitable growth, I suppose that will one day work in my favor as my 5 acres with a house you couldn't touch in San Jose for the money should be even more desirable. And one more thing: almost every night, for some reason, I arrive home with a hankering for something with a lot of garlic in it. Sorry for boring most everybody.
