Smart - you're wrong - you said this is like "Ken Starr going after Bill Clinton" - and it's not

- While Slick Willie is a felon & broke mutliple laws; MSFT hasn't broken any laws

- MSFT's problem is that they didn't give in to the DNC.

- Maybe the DNC can dispatch Al Gore to pick up some bags full of money & end this case early.

- Or better yet, elect Steve Forbes for prez.

MSFT might not have done anything wrong, but the languages their executives used and the internal emails they sent were pretty insensitive, don't you think? Business is fine, but uses your monopoly power to strong-hand force other vendors to select your product or else is not business. It's dirty laundry. They are a lot of piss-off people in Silicon Valley, more than you think. MSFT did not beat NSCP on the field, MSFT beat NSCP in backdoor politics, intimidation. I am pretty neutral on the case, the case is not entirely without merit, but it's not as serious as the DOJ's accusation. Look, my biggest holding is MSFT and DELL, but when it comes to ethics vs. money, I would rather lose money than making money in an un-ethical way.

The problem is really in Gates. He still feared competitors like when he first started MSFT. He didn't realize that MSFT has become a Titan, its position in Desktop OS and office software is pretty solid. He's not in a cut-throat, fight for survival situation any more like when MSFT first started. He can't undercut others supply to win anymore. I think that's the problem.

Good idea. Most people are tired of the circus the DOJ is running against MSFT. They are just like Ken Starr going after Bill Clinton. However, MSFT did not do anything wrong. It is BUSINESS, stupid! You are supposed to be tough and competitive. DOJ and the zealous lawyers should just go home and find a real productive job rather than trying to rack a good company.
Based on last quarter's earning, MSFT is becoming more determined than ever to generate great earnings to shut up those stupid lawyers. If you are jealous of Bill's billions, buy some MSFT stock rather than suing the guy.
