Fred, It would be a sound business decision at these prices. I think the bid will go up. GD would be the controlling ship building company in North America if they pull it off. Their stock should rise on this news.

IMHO< I am having a hard time believing that the US Government will allow this acquisition to occur.

The Navy Bent over backwards to promote the Now current Teaming Effort between EB and NNS to build Attack Subs...

This teaming idea was in an effort to preserve the industrial base yet allow for the most cost competitive price for submarines.

Will the Govt. allow Electric Boat to have a Monopoly on submarine construction????????????
