Zebra,

I believe that your little poll although not a large sample is an indication of just how little is actually known about MUSE. If only ONE out of ELEVEN have even ever heard of MUSE then there is a serious problem at name recognition for MUSE. Perhaps MUSE's 15 seconds of fame came in January 1998 when Jay Leno cracked a joke at how the network declined to allow Vivus a Super Bowl add. If I remember correctly he was making a joke out of the fact that the network claimed that ED was too sensitive of a subject yet we are constantly bombarded with commercials ranging from cures for hemmorhoid pain and itch to feminine hygiene.

I KNOW that there is still a large ED market for Vivus to tap. No name recognition to the PCP and no increased sales. No marketing partner and we continue to wither in the wind.

Zebra,

I really liked the Bob Dole commercial for ED I saw today on TV. IMO it was geared towards getting men to see their doctor for help. IMO it is free advertising for Vivus and MUSE but if it gets men to admit to their problems and go to the doctor, it wont help us any if the PCP is unaware of MUSE. If Vivus has no partner for the near future they can help themselves by doing a little marketing to the PCP. Not only via a mailing as I suggested earlier but it wouldn't hurt to do a few adds in the most popular md journals advertising a SAFE and LOCAL NON NEEDLE alternative to Viagra.

Currently the typical PCP who has a client that can not use Viagra will be offered a refferal to the urologist for needle therapy or perhaps a penile implant. If that is all that is offered, most of these guys will just accept their condition and do nothing else. If the PCP offers MUSE, I'd wager that 9 out of 10 men would be willing to give it a shot. I'd also wager that the same holds true with Viagra failures.

If in your survey less than 10% of the DOCTORS are unaware of MUSE then just think how little of the general public has ever heard of our product!

PS Here is just a little something I bumped into while seeing if I could get you all that Bob Dole ED commercial on the Real Time Player: perkel.com
