if any of you old timers know if Steve Sage or Chris Alexander or Mark Taylor is/are still around have him/them give me a buzz a post from several years ago (Chat - Steven Sage) Terri, Steven Sage is an alias for somebody on SI who uses many other aliases. He has been linked to "Chris Alexander", "Mark Taylor", and several other aliases. This was one strike against him because he always lied about using more than one alias. In the inital dialogue of the "Steven Sage's Short Term Trades" thread, "Steve" said he didn't have any experience trading stocks and that he wanted to post his personal trades for all to see. Many of us found out that he was lying about his experience (he has much more than he led everyone to believe) and he was also lying about how many shares of stock he was trading. Several people caught him lying by reviewing the time and sales for stocks and couldn't locate his trades. On several occassions, the total daily volume in a stock was less than his trade alone. And he regularly forgot how many shares he was holding in his "portfolio". These are strikes two and three. I received many, many emails from concerned participants because of "Steve's" deception. Some of the reasons for concern included: 1) Deception and money don't mix, 2) Some investors may have seen his "5,000 share trades" of a $30 stock and take a postion for the sole reason that they thought he knew something, when in reality he may have only bought 500 shares. Several people, me included, called his bluff publicly on the thread and it turned into a big blow-out. The webmaster caught wind of it and deleted all threads started by "Steven Sage". I have subsequently tried to pull up the profile for "Chris Alexander" and the messages posted in the past few months has been deleted. So in a nutshell, that's what happened to "Steven Sage". I'm certain that he is still using various aliases on SI, but I don't care to ellaborate on precisely which ones. "Steve" and his other aliases are welcome on this thread as long as they limit their discussion to stocks or things that are pertinent to everyone on the thread.
