<Somewhat OT>

Mark, are you up to date with the tax law? I have a question about how to report put option which subsequently was assigned (had to buy it), and then sell a covered call on the on the stock, which susequently was exercised. Do you report as three different transactions (put option, buy/sell the stock, and covered call option), or just one transaction with the cost basis reduced by the premiums received from the put and call options sold. When is the purchase date for the stock: when you sold the put option or the day you get the assignment?

TIA

Paul.
