I've been lurking around this thread for a while now, so I decided to finally post something. The analysis on this thread has been really excellent, sufficiently so to convince me to take a position in PROG, which I did a couple of weeks ago.

Which companies are PROG's main competitors for internet and/or catalog software sales? So far, I've found only one major competitor, "BEYOND.COM", which I think sells software entirely over the internet, whereas PROG is just now getting into internet software sales.

When I compared the fundamentals of these two companies, I was astounded at the difference, as shown in the table below.

Beyond.Com Programmer's Paradise

Market Cap: $666 Million $71 Million
Revenue: $42 Million $216 Million
PSR: 15.7 0.33
Earnings: $-33.6 Million $3.2 Million

BEYOND.COM has ten times the market cap, one fifth the revenue, is losing money while PROG is profitable, and has a PSR 48 times higher!

Any comments on this data or comparison to other competitors would be very welcome.
