nytimes.com
delightful editorial in NY times today..
still don't understand why the Japanese think they can export their
way out..they are killing their savers..wonder if they are even going to start charging them to keep money in their wonderful banks..
If they keep on giving their money away and stimulating more speculation with big financial players who are getting all the money for free to play with..wonder if they are practicing kamakazi(sp)
on a grandiose scale and hoping to tank the world ..
what am I missing?

search.nytimes.com this is what I mean by corporate welfare..
Have been having a running debate with a very wise friend who has pointed out all the virtues of lower corporate tax rates etc..
ie bringing more business to the USA,not having to pass on those
costs to the consumers,etc.. but somehow..I still think it just helps
create a two class society...
on the otherhand..I think the internet will really create some big
infighting among states ...why buy in your neighborhood store if your sales tax is high..just buy it off the internet..no sales tax..with the competition..might even be able to find things under cost :-)(won't states have to attract more internet businesses to get revenues from their revenues..curiously now beginning to watch how many small stores are closing..how in the world can they compete..
what a joke..before I worried about the major changes coming in to force out small stores..now the internet is chewing up the big chains..It is not a pretty jungle out there
I keep on reading and can understand why gold is doing zilch here..
Our government is too busy practicing triage..(I keep on wondering at
whose expense--don't they know they can't fight mother nature :-)
