NEOMAGIC® CORPORATION CHOSEN FOR THREE PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS BY
FABLESS SEMICONDUCTOR ASSOCIATION

San Jose, Calif. - December 9, 1998 - The Fabless Semiconductor Association (FSA) recognized NeoMagic Corporation [NASDAQ: NMGC] as the Best Financially Managed Fabless Company, for its Outstanding Financial Performance and as a Favorite Fabless Pick at the FSA's Anniversary Dinner Celebration on December 8, 1998. The event attracted over 1000 of the industry's top executives.

To determine the Best Financially Managed Fabless Company, the FSA and financial analysts evaluated the health of public fabless semiconductor companies traded on the NASDAQ by comparing financial indices as of the quarter ending June 1998, which included return on investment, return on equity, inventory turns, days sales outstanding, cash-per-share, sales-per-employee and current ratio. Revenue and net income growth was also considered to determine this year's winner. NeoMagic also won this prestigious award in 1997.

NeoMagic Corporation was also a recipient of the Outstanding Financial Performance award. The FSA recognized outstanding financial performance for those companies that either doubled revenue or net income year-over-year, for the twelve-month period ending September 1998. In this time frame, NeoMagic revenue and net income grew 121% and 95%, (on a comparable tax basis). NeoMagic attributes this growth to the value of its MagicWare™ embedded DRAM technology, the proliferation of NeoMagic accelerators into multiple notebook product lines at major PC manufactures, and the acceptance of its new 256-bit architecture product. NeoMagic was also presented with this award in 1996 and 1997.

In addition, NeoMagic Corporation received a Favorite Fabless Pick award. FSA invited leading analysts to select and present an award to their favorite fabless company based on 52-week stock, revenue forecasts and products. Elias Moosa, Principal and Technology Analyst, BancBoston Robertson Stephens chose NeoMagic for this award. Moosa stated, "Leveraging its undisputed leadership, NeoMagic's market share gains in the notebook multimedia arena have been phenomenal. For its next act, NeoMagic is training its sights on the vast consumer markets where its embedded DRAM technology could prove equally powerful towards ensuring the company's success."

In 1996, NeoMagic Corporation, the first company to design and deliver DRAM, complex logic and analog circuits in a single chip, was awarded The Industry's Most Respected Private Fabless Company as chosen by industry peers.

The FSA 1998 Anniversary Dinner Celebration was sponsored by leading fabless partners and supporters: American Microsystems, Inc. (AMI), Asahi Kasei Microsystems Co., Ltd. (AKM), BT Alex.Brown, Ernst & Young LLP, Gary Cary Ware & Freidenrich, LTX Corporation, Mentor Graphics Corporation, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, NationsBanc Montgomery Securities, Inc., Silicon Valley Bank, STATS, Synopsys, Teradyne, TSMC and UMC Group.
