Found an interesting thought about ECHO:

Article About USPS in Success Magazine

(a freebie mag put out by Sam's Club) about the USPS preparing to be selling postage on the internet. I don't claim to understand all the technical details, so bear with me, but it mentioned 4 internet service providers that would handle the transactions. Supposedly, the post office is working on the software (or someone developing it for them?) that would allow payment for the postage over the internet. Geared primarily towards small businesses. About a 10% markup to process the whole transaction. I don't know if ECHO is involved in developing this. ECHO wasn't mentioned. But if it is, the market potential would be enormous! Imagine getting a cut of postage sold by the USPS. If ECHO were handling this, it would be incredible. Wish I knew the answer. The postage that is downloaded has an encryption code specific to the account that is buying the postage, so when the mail is processed, postal machines know who sent it.
