I confirmed again tonight that LG did have the electricity turned off to the FAB's during the shutdown and did damage all the wafers in process. I was told they oxidize when left exposed to the air or oxygen too long. If anyone can expand on this I would appreciate it.

They indicated it will be 4-6 weeks before any parts even begin to think about shipping out of there. This should be positive for DRAM market pricing, if nothing else keeps it stable.
Good trading.

You know there might be a small increase in PC sales, thus more DRAM's being sold, next week -- the Pentium III comes out from behind the door.

I talked with several people today who work in the memory business and their feelings are the upturn is here, but don't blink, it will be shorter than usual. Not sure it will last long enough to turn the tide of losing money for more than a few quarters.

Could be an interesting spring.
